I'm a third year university student. When it comes to exams and driving tests I begin to panic and I cant focus on my papers. Sometimes I have panic attacks due to stress. I know that Naam Simran can help to reduce stress, but is there any specific prayers that can help my learning and/or concentration, or help me to succeed in my career and studies?
(REPLY) Sat Nam. WE have answered this many times, as there a lot of students who have the same problem you have. Please do a search for "concentration." And try the breath meditation. As for a specific prayer, I would suggest you ask for the ability to concentrate, and call upon Guru Ram Das, the "Lord of Miracles" to help you! (You could chant "Guru Guru Wahe Guru, Guru Ram Das Guru" and /or "Dhan Dhan Ram Das Gur" shabd) Remember, the mind follows the breath, so if you can practice controlling your breath, and inhaling "Sat" and exhaling "Nam" (silently) while breathing slowly and deeply through your nose, you will find that you start to calm your mind. Panic and anxiety are forms of fear, and the antidote for fear is Faith. Chanting "ANG SANG WAHE GURU" either outloud or silently, will remind you that God is living and breathing in you, at every moment! Blessings, SP
