What posses a sikh to question his own religion an his place of orgin?

People im a proud sikh.....One of my cousin's recently questioned my beleifs as a Sikh....i may not be Gursikh with a kaise...but the blood that flows through me will always be of sikhism....He says that im not a sikh...but we just carry the name of a sikh...being a sikh you have to be Amritshak and fullfill all the duties wich are meant for sikhism...This offended me very much...I became very furious an anngry....He says im no more of sikh than he is...but if he doesnt beleive in being sikh an i do, how can he question my beleifs.....He also said, "What has Sikhism done for you", now that really offended me.Being sikh is in my blood an my culture is orginated from my homeland in india....he says to heck with india....india is where our freedom came about...where Shaheed Bhagat Singh and gave his life for us...all Sikh,Muslims,Hindus an all others....he asked why do i have so much pride in india....though i was never born there or yet havent even been...I being an american citizen would still today give my life for India without hesitation.
His saying is that because hes involved in bhangra shows an competitions it makes him more of a sikh or punjabi than i am..being a sikh comes form the heart..I told him if it wasnt for the gurus that he would be hanging in peices around his mothers neck...Thats what sikhi has done for him me an everyone that lives through its beleifs...please send your feedback...

You love the Guru? Then you're His Sikh. Don't worry about what fools say. Those who have doubt themselves try to make others doubt. It's a way of avoiding their own questions. Your relationship with the Guru is between your soul and the Guru - no one has the authority to question it, judge it, define it or control it. Being a Sikh is not an ethnic identity. It is a soul connection that is pre-recorded on your forward as a destiny that has been earned by the good actions of past lifetimes. Being a Sikh is in your blood not because of your culture, but because of your Spirit. Rely on your Spirit, love your Guru and keep walking.

All love.
