Vaheguru ji ka Khalsa. Vaheguru ji ki Fateh.

I just wanted to ask if it is ok for Singhs to wear chains in their necks, earings and do tatoos on their bodies because quit a number of my friends do it and are encouraging my brothers to do it as well.

Sat nam. It is inappropriate for a Sikh to ALTER his or her body in any way. So, piercing and tattooing are no-nos. Wearing a chain is up to the person involved. But the REAL question is: just how committed to Sikhi are your Singh friends?
