Summary of Question:Bhai Gurdas And The Last Page Of Ssg
Category:Gurbani
Date Posted:Sunday, 12/01/2002 11:13 PM MST

i heard about bhai gurdas ji writing his own bani but since he had a slight ego he couldn't put it in the SSG so now there's a theory that the last page was written by him and was not part of guru's standard. For example, he says that Guru Nanak Dev Ji was God in the form of a man but he was actually God's messenger. How did this confusing last page get in the SSG?

PS sorry i accidentally sent a blank message before this

There are no writings of Bhai Gurdas in the Siri Guru Granth Sahib nor on the last page of the Guru. The closing composition id the Raag Mala. The author for this is not signed. It is an index of the Raags and their relationships to each other. It is a seal that marks the completion of the Guru.

Bhai Gurdas did write some beautiful hymns. Guru said that Bhai Gurdas' hymns would be the key to understanding the Siri Guru Granth Sahib.
