A Sikh takes the name of Singh as his family name. It is your strength and attachment to Guru. Singh means "Lion"...or fearless one who is a spiritual king. Guru Gobind Singh gave Sikh men this name to replace caste names so we could relate to the Sadh Sangat as our family. He gave us this name to inspire us in our lives to be noble and strong.
You can take the name Singh and call yourself: Kabir Singh Grewal or Kabir Singh, without the Grewal. The choice is yours how you would like to be called. You may have to go through some legal process to change your name on your legal documents.
For now, enjoy adding Singh as your middle name. When you are over 18 you can make legal changes.
God bless you, SKKK
