Summary of Question:	Beard Colouring?

I am what i would describe as being a commited sikh i.e uncut hair, don't drink etc. My question is whether according to Sikhi is there any arguement against me adding highlights to my beard? This is for a strictly cosmetic purpose and from my vieiwpoint i can't see anything fundamentaly wrong with it- I would do it myself and wouldn't damage my hair in anyway. Putting aside my reasons for doing it, would this be wrong?

Sat Siri Akaal. The decision is ultimately yours, but it is still altering the body, though temporarily. If you are Amritdhari, I don't think this is appropriate at all.
The real issue is why do you want to do this? Do you feel you are not handsome unless you have highlights? Is it just to be different or is this some fad or some attempt at catching the eye of woman? The basic premise of Sikhi and keeping our form is that the Creator has given us a form and who are we to think we can or should improve on what S/He has given us?
