Hi, my name is Pritpal Singh, I am 20 years old, My family and I are Guru Sikhs, and I live in California. I had some questions regarding the Muslim culture. I have a lot of Muslim friends including Afghans, Indian Muslims, and Iranians. Those guys are my best friends and will always support me. They are also my co-workers and my boss is also Afghan who is my best friend, he hired me and takes really good care of me. On the other side, My dad basically critizes me every day (which really bothers me and hurts me) about how I shouldn't be around Mulsims and Afghans and how they are bad and they've always been bad. My parents tell me that muslims are the number 1 traitors and villains. They also tell me that even our gurus have said that all muslims are evil and they also tell me that it has that WRITTEN in The Guru Granth Sahib. They also tell me that even the Muslim religion is bad and evil, that it tells them to torture people and make them convert into muslims. I don't know, I totally disagree with them because I love all my friends so much, they have done so much for me, things that even my own relatives have never even done for me. I basically want to to know, did our gurus REALLY talked about muslims that way?? And does it REALLY say that in the Guru Granth Sahib?? I have always thought that our gurus respected Islam and they respected all people and all religions and treating everybody equally. I want to know because if our gurus really did tell us to stay away from them, then I guess I have no choice but to stay away from them. Please answer my questions, Thank You.
