gur fateh ji

today this guy pulled my jura and i didnt do anything i just ignored him
becuase i was in shok , im scared now first its just name calling then its my jura getting pulled next thing u no somebody comes a long and cuts my hair

why did this happen to me? whenever i see a white person walk by me always look bak becuase i never know

why do ppl have to do these things

i never disrespected there religion i never did anything and i get my juraa pulled

and every time somebody insults my jura its always a white person
i cant trust white ppl anymore

if i tell my freinds they well end up killing the guy so i didint tell n e one

just u guys im just hopin u can give some adivce so that my jura doesnt get pulled again

i fell like a coward alli did was ignore him and did do my work
i hate this first some idiots call me a girl then some idiots say that how long is ur hair and call me a imagrent
now somebody pulls my jura

wats next?

wat should i have done

should i have broken his face? or did i do the right thing and ignore him?

(REPLY) Sat Nam. I'm really sorry this has happened to you. High school boys can be especially cruel and ignorant. I think you did the right thing -- this one time, to ignore their insult. But I would not let it happen again! There are a couple of things that might help the situtaion. They both require courage. FIrst, I would suggest that you go to the school counselor or Principal and ask for time to be given to you in an assembly to give a talk explaining about the Sikh religion, and why we don't cut hair, etc. etc. Those ignorant boys need to be educated! If you don't feel you can give such a talk, find someone in the Sikh community to do it for you. The second thing is that you have to respond to any teasing by warning your attackers that you will not tolerate their disrespect, and if you have to, I would say, go ahead and punch! We are soldier/saints, and I personally don't believe you should be abused and not fight back. Just make sure that you're physically up to it. But remember, physical violence is the LAST resort - to be used only when all other methods have failed. As for worrying about "white" people, try to remember that God lives in everyone, even in the evil doers, and when you feel you are in danger or in an uncomfortable situation, mentally chant AAD GURAY NAMEH, JUGAAD GURAY NAMEH, SAT GURAY NAMEH, SIRI GURU DAVAY NAMEH. And call upon the first four Gurus in sequence to surround you and protect you (Guru Nanak on your right, Guru Angad behind you, Guru Amar Das on your left side, and Guru Ram Das in front of you.) Feel the presence of the Guru with you at all times, and God with you with every breath! It's not the life that matters, it the courage that we bring to it! Also, keep in mind, High School will not last forever! Blessings, SP
