Hi,

I have a problem and I am confident that you guys can help me through it. Lately, I have been feeling very weird. I dont want to do anything. I normally try really hard on my studies but these days, I seem not even care as much. I dont try as hard. I dont know why though. Nothing has changed but I have...the reason-I am no idea. I cant concentrate on ANYTHING and go into tests feeling unprepared whereas before I always was prepared. I dont know what has gotten into me. I just cant keep up any more. On top of this, I have so big dreams. But I dont know if I really care about them like I did before. My parents work day and night to support my education and I am slacking off like this. Of course you guys cant do anything about it and I am the only one that has to take the initiative but is there any padth that I can do to regain my path...and start a fresh look onto life again...regain my attitude...start hardwork and get somewhere in life...regain my focus. I really dont know why I feel this way-no clue. You will probably suggest that I go to a psychologist but I am sure there are other ways to get through this--I just need to see those ways and this is why I contacted you all. Please please please help me get through this extra strange phase in my life. Please please please help! I really really am desperate and your my only source of advice.

thanks so much for your time and help. I appreciate it tremendously.
(REPLY) Sat Nam. There could be several causes for your lethargy and your feelings of discouragement. Sometimes it's glandular imbalance, But, it occurs to me to ask if you are reciting your banis every day? You see, how we "feel" and even think is directly related to the vibrational content of our being (I hope you can understand what I'm saying) We are a composite of "vibrations" This is why our Shabd Guru, the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, is so transformational and powerful and why Guru Gobind Singh told us to worship it as our living Guru! Words have power, and just as the physical body needs digestible, nourishing food to have energy, similarly, your mind and emotions need uplifting, healthy spiritual and mental nourishment to elevate and stimulate your consciousness to be awake and aware. So, reciting Jaap Sahib will empower you. Japji will connect you with your soul. Each bani has a specific value and power to bring out the best in you. And I would suggest in addition that you chant/sing/recite -- whatever you can do, the shabd RAJ YOG TAKHT DEEAN. We have a song, "Song of the Khalsa" and one of the lines says, "When things are down and darkest, that's when we stand tallest." Don't despair, you CAN pick yourself up and regain your enthusiasm. May God and Guru bless you. SP
