(REPLY) Sat Nam. Kindly go to the SikhNet home page, and on the left hand side you will see a list of topics. I suggest you read all of the Introduction to Sikhism, and then specifically in the SIKH DHARMA MANUAL, read Chapter 10, which describes the Amrit Sanchar,or Baptism ceremony. There is no difference between the original ceremony and the "modern day" . Except that in English speaking Gurdwaras, explanations are given in English (or French, or Italian, etc, depending upon the country). SP
