I was really disappointed in hearing this..i always thought that American Sikhs keep Rehit better than most Punjabi Sikhs. I thought that they were more in tune with the Gurus..
I would also like to state that a Sikh believes in the ten Gurus, the Guru Granth Sahib Ji, and owes alleigance to no other religion. (Of course Sikhs respect other religions..look at Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib ji).
irespect Jesus, but i don't pray to him.. i don't degrade him neither.
I bow and place my head at the Charan of Guru Granth Sahib Ji only.. what's up with these kids?? please reply..

Sat nam. It is nonsense to lump all american sikhs into a single category, such as 'better at rehit.' I am American Sikh and believe me, we have many individual variations in how we believe and observe. So let that go now.
Kids will be kids. Many American Sikh youth have extended family who are Christian. We have sayings in American English that reflect Christian values and upbringing. It pervades American culture as Hinduism pervades Indian culture. So ease up.
Kids need to explore who and what is out there, their options for faith and values. Some folks pray to everybody, no matter what faith the deity is part of. So what. Youth at some point make conscious decisions to observe--or not--the faith they were raised in, and from there decide what they want to be and how. I know because I converted. It is no big deal. While it isn't Sikh to do so, it is human. Guru ang sang,
