hi, my name is Manny....i live in England and i go to a roman catholic secondary school....i'm currently doing my A levels and it is compulsory for me to do genral studies...today, we looked at different catergories of religion...and we came across the word Polytheistic. This is the word used to describe faiths that beleive in a variety of Gods.....but when my teacher read out some examples...she said Sikhism was an example!! i was a bit shocked...i thought we beleived in One God...Ik Onkar....but iwas told that we beleived in the Ten Gurus as Gods.....what? i'm really annoyed now...because i'm confused...what can i say? it was on paper...printed and typed by the examining bodie themselves, are they chattin nonsense or what??

Wahe Guruji Ka Khalsa
Wahe Guruji Ki Fateh

Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa
Wahe Guru Ji K Fateh.

Sikhism is NOT polytheistic. Whoever wrote that has no concept of what Sikhism is. It is absolutely incorrect. We do believe in One God. But what we believe is that the Jot, or light, of that One God lives in all things - is it a meditative tradition that brings you to the experience of non-duality where you find God within yourself. The Gurus realized this consciousness through the power of the Shabd Guru.

So - please correct your teacher and,, if possible, get the paper corrected. We are not a polythesitic religion. Ek Ong Kaar - Out of the One God comes the entire Creation, but it is all ONE.

Good luck and God bless.

All love.
