Summary of Question:Men And Women Can Never Be Equal
Category:General Sikhism

COULD A MEN BECOME PREGNANT? iF A MAN COULD BECOME PREGNANT THEN MEN AND WOMEN COULD BOTH BECOME GURUS, a woman should always be dependant on her Husband, but should not be treated as a slave, after all our mothers are women, Sikhism is not pure Vedic, but its roots are comming from the ancient Vedic Culture.

The decline of the vedic culture began with the fall of the Brahmin community, the Sikh Gurus reformed the culture to fit the time and place, Re-incarnation is the basic tennant of Sikhism, and this comes from the 5000 year old teachings of the Bhagavat Gita. CH2:13.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji taught 100% pure Vaishnavism, the 10th Guru changed it. He stopped the parampara, Guru Gobind Singh Ji did not destroy the divine cast system, He destroyed the evil cast system and combined the divine cast system into one, Making Kshatriyas , He saw the fall of the Kshatriyas.

Strictly speaking Sikhs are Kshatriyas, they are fighters, (Lion) this concept came from Nar Singh Dev, half man and half lion, the pure Vaishnavas worship Lord Narsinghdev for protection from evil.

Why did Guru Gobind Singh Ji not allow Mata JI to fight on the battlt field?
They are equal as female loins but to make their husbands stronger spiritually, Sikhism is so deep that very few Sikhs trully understand the essance of its teachings, the Sikh Gurus tried just about every thing in India and it practically failed, thats why Guru Gobind Singh Ji , did what he had to do and stopped the Parampara, "NO more Gurus" worship the Guru Grant Sahib Ji,
This is your final authority, its nothing more than "Diety Sastra" .

Understand one thing that Guru Gobind Singh Ji was verse in Sanskrit and the Vedic sastras, no body can destroy Sikhism and in the end it is this religion which will save India and the world.

Raj Karaa Ga Khalsa.

Sat Sri Akal,

I believe that you are making two points, one about gender equality and the other about the Sikhi and the Vedas. I will try to address both of them.

First, about women being dependent on their husbands. I actually think it's the other way around! I think men are dependent on their wives. Without a woman, a man is nothing! Of course men can't pregnant, and of course men and women are not the same. Men used to be the warriors in olden times because they were the ones who were big enough and strong enough to fend off the invaders. This is purely just the physical traits of a man vs. a woman. It has nothing to do with equality. Equality means the way you treat someone. Equality means letting women perfrom seva and follow Sikhi, unlike in many Western religions (and Hinduism) where women were (and even sometimes still are) not allowed to serve as a priest, or religious leader. Equality means that women are NOT encouraged to burn in the funeral pyre of their husband, as that was the Indian tradition. Equality means that a woman can get remarried if her husband dies, instead of being an outcast. Equality has to do with thoughts and actions, not with physical traits that make men and women different.

Second, Sikhi is an independent dharma. Just because a few traits are similar to other religions, that does not make Sikhi a part of or offshoot of that religion. Christianity believes in a God, so does Sikhism. Does that mean that Sikhi is an offshoot of Christianity? Of course not! So just because Sikhi shares many aspects with other religions, that does not make Sikhi a continuation or offshoot of that religion!

Yes, it is true that Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj was well versed in the Vedas, and the Puranas too. He was so well versed in them, he understood them so well, that he tells us in Chopae Sahib, Savaya:

"Paiee gayaa jab tha thumrae thubtha ko aak therae nehi aanyo. Ram raheen puran, quran, anaak kahaa muth ek na manyo. simrith sastra veda suba bo bhade kahe hum ek no janyo"
-> "O Waheguru, since I have fallen at Your Feet, I have not wandered off of Your path. I do not follow the religious ways, preached by various religions, believing in Ram, Mohammad, Puran or Quran. The Simritis, Shashtras and the Vedas lay down different doctrines; but I do not recognize any of these."

So I think that it is quite obvious that Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji knew all about the Simrithis, Shashtras, Vedas, Puranas, Quran, etc., but He Himself had no belief in them. Why? Because he was a Sikh, and Sikhi is not an offshoot of any religion. He understood that the true way was not through the Vedas, but through Naam Simran of Waheguru.

Strictly speaking, Sikhs are Singhs and Kaurs. That's it. Guru Gobind Singh Ji gave us these names to eliminate all references to caste. Everyone is equal. Sikhs fight injustice, otherwise are peaceful. Sikhi is beautiful.

Gur Fateh,
HSD
