WJKK this is a humble request to the writer of this message to rethink her views.

"Hello. You have made it out that true Sikh girls must tye their hair in a turban, braid, or bun. Well, excusue me but isn't it more important to do nitnem and love GOd than do that. And Babaji NEVER siad that you must do braid, bun, or turban. He said ot to cut your hair and to treat them with respect."

Penji most people do not know but if you do deep research into history and the Rehat you will see that turban was always worn in Gurus times and is compulsory.

Let me cite one of Guru Gobind Singhs 52 Hukams, "always wear a turban". This is irrespective of sex.

When we look at Rehat Namas which tell us of the original Maryada we see Bhai Daya Singh of the original Panj Pyare saying - "women should not have their hair backwards, they should have it as a topknot on their head".

The head must always be covered as Bhai Nand Lal Rehat Nama tells us. This is impossible with a Chunni - in the shower and to bed, you cannot wear a Chunni.

Historians like JD Cunningham made it clear that Sikh women were always distingusied from others by a jurra and a dastar.

"So if I do a ponytail and tka egood care of it, or even leave them open but without getting them dirty, that isn't wrong."

Penji you receive great respect from me for keeping your Kesh. But Rehat Namas make it clear hair is not to be left loose and should be in a Keski.

Loose hair is not Khalsa roop. Womens dastar, either V shape, round shape or even a feminine Dumalla is Khalsa roop. They look infinitely more beautiful than any other non-Khalsa hair style and that is coming from a teenage male.

"And you have also said the we cannot style our hair, put on makeup, or anything such-hey I know too much is wrong, but a little is not bad."

Bhai Desa Singh Rehat Nama makes it clear to us "do not wear makeup or jewlery. Do not commit adultery". Makeup and jewellery are ways of beautifying the self is for ego purposes only. Why are you not content with your God given image? The natural image of a Singhnee is much more beautiful than any artificial one.

"I'm from a Sikh family...I know the whole japji sahib since I was 10...and oh yeah--I HATE bhangra, hate it with a passion. My friend gets mad at me saying I disgrace the reliogion!!"

Penji to increase Nimrata and decrease Haumai we do not tell people any spiritual acheivements, what we know, how often we do it etc. This is how a true Gursikh increases his or her spiritual level much quicker. You are clearly on the right path in life and I hope my comments may clear your doubts on these parts of Khalsa Rehat.

Thank you for your comments. I'm sure some will find them helpful. We are here to inform and inspire... not judge or condemn. Blessings. GTKK
