Summary of Question:Khalsa
Category:General Sikhism

Your response about Raj Karega Khalsa was good and I liked it but can you please give me the translation of the whole Shabad so I can understand it better. Also I would like to point out that Sikhs are not fighting because they want to rule over others. They are fighting for truth because indian government attacked Golden temple and killed thousands of Sikhs. 5000 Sikhs were killed in five days in Delhi. Sikhs were burnt alive, women were raped and most Sikhs males from age 10 to 40 were killed. Women from age 14 to 50 were raped. Khalsa is fighting against that opression. Is it bad as you said that ruling is bad. Guru Ji taught us to fight for truth and for justice. Did Guru Ji not fight for justice? They did and so is Khalsa. Sikhs in 18th century fought for truth and right cause they ruled but if you look at that Kindom of Sikhs, it wass thebest country in the world and not to mention the richest. Do you think that Kingdom was bad. If there was Sikhs country, no one would have attacked Gurdwaras and killed Sikhs. September 11 was a very bad disaster for Sikhs. How many americans know about Sikhi. These americans killed Sikhs. If there was a Sikh country to back up the foreign Sikhs and give them support, this wouldn't have happened. Sikh should always wear Kirpan but Sikhs are not allowed to wear Kirpans on airplanes, and other government places. Not even most schools. If there was a Sikh country, the situation would have been different and Punjab wouldn't be stuck between nuclear war of india and pakistan. You know if there is a war, whole punjab will be destroyed. Hoe does your community service help solving the real problems of SIkhs. Indian government is spending billions of rupees to bring Sikhism into fold of Hinduism. How does your community service help Sikhs to stop indian government, RSS and Noormahals. Sikhs are fighting to keep their distinction and appearance, to save their religion and to keep Sikhi alive. If that means a separate country then why not? It doesn't mean we hate hindus. In fact Sikhs didn't kill hindus in Punjab and no hindu was forced out of punjab. If indian government doesn't like us and doesn't want to live with Sikhs, then why shouldn't we be just separated and when we gain power we can promote Sikhi and teach the message of Guru and universal brotherhood. Can this not be done? Khalistan is not for bad purpose. Also I would like you to response to what Guru Gobind Singh Ji said:

"Raj Bina Nahin Dharam Chale Hain, Dharam Bina Sab Dale Male Hain"

This clearly proves that a Raj is a MUST for a religion otherwise it perishes. Guru Gobind Singh Ji said it. Do you guys have different intrepretation of this? When I ask any non-punjabi Sikh about Khalistan, they all have same answer that they don't want to be separated and they would reply in exactly the same words. To me it sounds like Yogi is speaking in all those Sikhs. It's not their own voice. Sounds like they need to learn the true purpose of fight. Perhaps they are sticking with community service a lot but what if those people we want to help turn against us, should we not fight to defend ourselves. If yes, then that's exactly what Sikhs are doing. If no, then that is not Sikhi. I don't mean to be harsh even though i do sound like it but I am not mad. I think sharing each other's opinions would bring us all closer and resolve this matter. if we stick with just our own thoughts, we would never get anywhere. So please do response to every single question. Another question: If whole America turns against Sikhs and Sikhs children are killed in the streets, men are burnt alive, women are raped and your family is one of those victims and government doesn't punish them, would you still say that You are Proud to be American or you rather support a separate country. Would you still live among those who harrased you. Would you raise a sword and fight like Guru Gobind SIngh Ji have taught us or you rather stick with community service? I'd appericiate for your time. Thank you

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

******************************************************************************

Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa,
Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh.

I think there's a pretty simple (though not easy) answer to this.

Being a Sikh in Northern India is both a cultural ethnicity and a spiritual identity. Because of that-there are a lot of issues that you face in the Punjab related to politics, society and culture. Those of us who have become Sikhs in the West already have a cultural and political identity. Being a Sikh is a spiritual identity. As spiritual Sikhs, we connect with the message of unity given by all the Gurus. Every Westerner I know who became a Sikh really vibrates with the message of Oneness in Japji, especially when Guru Nanaak says, "Let the highest sect be the brotherhood and sisterhood of all humanity and let control of the self be your conquest of the world."

However, Sikhs in the Punjab have political, social and economic challenges to face. Because of that, you connect very strongly with Guru Gobind Singh's message of standing up to tyranny and becoming sovereign over your own life.

Whether or not there is ever an independent Sikh homeland will have absolutely no impact on my life. Whether or not there is an independent Sikh homeland will have a huge impact on your life. The main question here is: should Sikhs fight among themselves over this issue. We only have so many breaths that God gave us, and Guru has established a mission through Sikh Dharma of the Western Hemisphere and the Siri Singh Sahib/Yogi Bhajan. That mission is about sharing the dharma of the Guru with people who want to elevate themselves and live in their purity. We firmly believe that when people are willing to live in tune with the Will of God, then all these social, political and economic injustices will automatically come back into balance. But as long as people do not live surrendered to the Will of God, the imbalances will continue. Therefore, the best we can do for humanity is to serve those who want to come into an understanding of their higher self by sharing with them the techniques Guru gave us to surrender our lives to the Will of God.

The solutions to your problems, to my problems, to all problems lie in bowing to and accepting the Will of God in our lives. In doing that, the answers will come to us. If it God's will that the Sikhs have an independent state, then all you need to do is meditate and learn how to surrender yourself to God's Will and by His hand, without any effort from your ego, it shall happen. In the meantime, our two cultures need to find ways to build bridges, communicate, dialogue so we can support each other as we face the karmas that lie before us.

The translation of the shabd you requested is as follows:

Raj Karega Khalsa

Khalsa is he who doesn't talk ill of others.
Khalsa is he who fights in the fore front.
Khalsa will rule.
There will not be left any enemy.
All those who stay together
At the feet of the Guru will be saved.

Khalsa is he who conquers the five evil passions.
Khalsa is he who fulfills his duties (karmas).
Khalsa is he who gives up pride.
Khalsa is he who doesn't look at other women.

Khalsa is he who doesn't desire other women.
Khalsa is he who is blessed with the Naam.
Khalsa is he who love Wahe Guru.
Khalsa is he who fights bravely.

Khalsa is he who helps the needy.
Khalsa is he who overpowers his enemy.
Khalsa is he who recites the Nam.
Khalsa is he who rises about the evil.

Khalsa is he who is in tune with the Nam.
Khalsa is he who breaks false rituals.
Khalsa is he who becomes a crusader.
Khalsa is he who always faces the battles.

Khalsa is he who saves the crusade.
Khalsa is he who saves the battle.
Khalsa is he who is always ready with his weapon.
Khalsa is he who destroys the evil.

Sincerely,

GPK

Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa,
Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh.
