Sat Sri Akaal,

I’d just like to say a few things about all this concept of why good or bad things happen to us. First of all... when asking that question one must take into consideration not only themselves or other humans but also all other life forms. People ask... why shouldn’t we eat meat? Then they ask... what did I do to deserve such and such thing happening to me? There are many who claim to be "nice" and "polite." Yet they overlook how they are towards animals or bugs. I’m sure many of us are guilty of "murdering" a mosquito, a fly, an ant or a cockroach. If we intentionally kill these living beings... how can we call ourselves nice and not deserve bad things happening to us??? Kabir ji says:

Kabeer, they oppress living beings and kill them, and call it proper.
When the Lord calls for their account, what will their condition be? ||199||

Most of us enjoy eating all kinds of non-veg. When asked not to eat meat... people bluntly say, "why not. We enjoy eating it so we will." Many also go as far as to say, "Oh these animals were made for us to eat." We human beings are very shallow. We come up with some sort of an excuse to continue doing "evil/bad" things. Some would say, "I don’t kill the animal, somebody else kills it, I only eat it." All we think about is we humans and mostly about "I." We have no feelings about other life forms. We have no grounds to complain about our sufferings. Yet we go on saying God is punishing us. Kabir Ji says:

Do not say that the Vedas, the Bible and the Koran are false. Those who do not contemplate them are false.
You say that the One Lord is in all, so why do you kill chickens? ||1||

We need to see God in all... and then ask ourselves if we really are as nice and innocent as we claim to be. Kabir Ji says:

Kabeer, repeating, "You, You", I have become like You. Nothing of me remains in myself.
When the difference between myself and others is removed, then wherever I look, I see only You. ||204||

So until we can see the one Lord in all, we won’t understand why good or "bad" things happen. We shouldn’t complain about our sufferings. Rather we should take them as blessing, learn and avoid any more damage by grieving on them. If someone has done something bad to you, then there is a reason. If there isn’t any reason then that one will pay for their actions. We must control ourselves from doing 1.) the things we don’t want done to ourselves and 2.) the things that Guruji warns us about. And to accomplish this we have to control/kill kaam, krodh, lobh, moh and hankaar. Then again, to control ourselves from these five emotions, we must see God in all. Kabir Ji says:

Kabeer, kill only that, which, when killed, shall bring peace.
Everyone shall call you good, very good, and no one shall think you are bad. ||9||

Thank you all for taking the time to read the above. I hope we can all learn our lessons in this life itself and not have to come back again.

*******

Thank you for your contribution.
