I've been wondering this for a long time, but is there something wrong with Sikhs being the authors of a fictional story? I know it sounds a little silly, but to be honest, I've never come across a Sikh author who doesn't write about religion. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against them writing about religion, I think it's a great thing to do. It's just that I've always wanted to write fantasy or fiction, you know, but whenever I do start writing, I can't bring myself to really develop the story or I start feeling really guilty. Somehow writing feels wrong. I don't think I could write about religion because I'm only 15, but I really do enjoy writing, so I definitely don't want to give it up. I just don't understand why I start feeling guilty if I write about something bad that happens in the story or if I write about destiny.

Thanks.

Writing is a creative activity. It is wonderful and fueled by your creativity and your devotion. I know so many Gursikhs who write poetry and novels and articles, children's books etc. WHen you are motivated to write, start out by tuning in to Wahe Guru with the Mangala Charan of Jaap sahib. Dedicate it to Wahe Guru and release your self judgement and enjoy your writing of any stories. Your stories can uplift inspire be about people of grace and consciousness. This is wonderful and a gift you have!!! SK
