Is it true that god is a human creation for the purpose of mass societal control, basicically crowd control and moral guidence/persuasion. Smart people who realised people are better controlled out of fear came up with the idea to use Idolistic worship to help curb peoples evil ways and thus God was "born". but like all human creations higher learning and advancment are making it more readily available for people to learn more and see through blatent power facades. Religion that was created for the good of man is now an empire and can no longer be called pure. thus its run its cycle. god is dead?

Sat nam. Believe what you want. Your post is certainly one interpretation for cynics and disbelievers. Sikh Gurus wrote Gurbani based on their EXPERIENCE of the Divine, whether called Lord, God, or Waheguru. That is good enough for many of us to believe in the existence of God.
