After reading your response to the latest questions I was shocked at the answer GPK gave; "Whether or not there is ever an independent Sikh homeland will have absolutely no impact on my life. Whether or not there is an independent Sikh homeland will homeland will have a huge impact on your life." What the heck are you saying?? What kind of Sikh are you if a you dont think that a sikh that is affected by something in another country doesnt affect you??? Where is the unity??? You take Sikhism but you dont accept the other races of people that come with it??? You love our Gurus teachings, scriptures, way of life but you dont love us? If anything happens to any sikh any where in the world it affects every sikh every where. This is how sikhi works and how Guru created the PANTH. I feel race is always an issuse when it comes to white people, you see us brown sikhs, we're just some unfocused Sikhs...but you seem to think of yourselves as the people who know our religion better than us. Actually some of you do know sikhi better than most sikhs out there but as far as unity...you have definitely brought the issue of sikn color into this. if you dont care for Khalistan...you guys are ignoring the the pain and suffering of the sikhs in 1984 and the current situation of punjab. I wonder if you guys would care more if some white sikhs went to inida and got killed and raped...I wonder how different your reaction might be. For you guys to take our Guru, bana, the teachings, the way of life and not accept us...it is sad. You dont attend our Punjabi run Gurdawaras...because you dont want to get involved with the politics there. Are you guys that weak? Why dont you face those idiots running the Gurdwaras and turn them around as Sikhs are supposed to do? Why dont you fight the injustice that has happened to any sikh regardless of color or race?

Your answer to that will be "life is very precious and we should focus on our ownself before we can begin to change others" BS! Sikhs are the most versatile people in the world...just focusing on your perosonal spirtuality is selfish...we should all get together to creat a world in which everyone can have the freedom to practice their own path to spiritual realization. Do you know that in india most "sikhs" dont even keep their hair...drugs are all over punjab...my own cousins cant read in punjabi...school are not teaching it....people in punjab are being brain washed to think of the punjabi language as inferior. Keeping your hair is thought of as "too religious." Do you consider this to be a homeland for sikhs that fought and gave every drop of their blood for a country that now wants all of its minorities to be Hindus. All of Gurdwaras are being run by the Hindu government, that is not your concern as a Sikh? The Golden Temple was attacked in 1984, that is not your concern as sikh? Whether all the Gurdwaras are run by Hindus or Sikhs does not affect you here in the u.s as a sikh? Over 50,000 sikhs have been in jails since 1984, they been their is since they were kids, that is not your concern? All you care about is being a Sikh for yourself and your white community and YOGI bhajan, and trust me lots of sikhs know about his ideas as well. I used to have so much respect for you white sikhs when i was little..i used to get so excited to see you guys, i would run and say Gurfateh every time i saw one of you...but now its like you guys have become aliens to me. your ideologies are so differnt from what we punjabi sikhs have been taught for centuries...we dont agree with putting the word "ashram" with the word Gurdwara...but you guys do it and you dont even see how hindu that is. im sure you have some reason to explain why you use that word..but throuh out history no GURDWARA was called a ashram. I just dont uderstand...you love SIKHISM but not the brown people that come with it...whats up with that? and you know what one day Khalsa will rule...the khalsa in each and every sikh and the khlasa panth will rule the world. i mean we will conquer our minds and in doing so we will LITERALLY conquer the world. I HOPE TO GURU THAT YOU PUT THIS ON THE SITE!!

Karandeep Kaur Ji!

Wahe Guru Ji ka Khalsa
Wahe Guru Ji ki Fateh!

Thank you for your heartfelt message. Please understand that each of the forum moderators is an individual who is answering and communicating to the best of his or her own consciousness at the moment. I hope you will be so kind as to not generalize about "white sikhs". I can only speak for myself, but when I see a Sikh brother or sister I see only the Guru's Sikh. Skin color is completely irrelevant and most times, I don't even notice. I just look for the light of Cherdi Kala in the eyes of my brother or sister.

You are right about the Gurdwaras, but I have found that simply doing kirtan, doing seva and lovingly confronting unrighteousness without flinching is more effective than playing politics. Life is too short for anything but seva, sangat and pangat. The Guru will set things right. Power plays, corruption and slander are self-defeating.

As for Khalistan, I believe it is our destiny to form communities all over the world. The world is our homeland. We cannot form a protected "bubble" and separate ourselves from others. Each Sikh of the Guru is a seed that must germinate in any soil and then grow and blossom to spread the fragrance of the Naam all over the world.

I understand your anger, but in my heart I feel that you have been very harsh in your generalizations.

I understand that an ashram is not a Gurdwara and vice versa. There is no confusion about this. You are right that as Khalsa, we take responsibility for the whole world. Every day we pray, "Nanak Naam Cherdhi Kalah, Tere Bani Sarbhat da Bhala". The Khalsa Raj is the royal lineage of Guru Gobind Singh and it is our destiny to serve each other and bring the light and power of the Shabd Guru to everyone.

Thank you again for your confrontation. It is always important for us to be awake and pay attention.

.....G
