Summary of Question:Kirtan/Sunday Worshippers

Sat Sri Akal, I have a question regarding kirtan done in Gurdwaras. I live in Van BC, and we have a few Gurdwaras here. I feel that in some of the Gurdwaras kirtan is done dramatically different. For example sometimes the sangat only consists of about 20 people ( this is usually common on weekdays )including me, and the ragis are singing but they don't seem to be doing it with their heart. They seem like they are just there because they have to be there. There is one Gurdwara here where the the ragis sing their hearts out, it is such soul stirring kirtan mainly because they sing loud and put their hearts in it. When i listen to kirtan I try my best to be absorbed in the kirtan as much as possible. But sometimes the program is just so mellow. The sad thing is that the gurdwara commitees are not trying to draw more larger sangats, because the quality of the program is not what it can be. Is it wrong for me to want to go to the gurdwara where the kirtan is done with more enthusiasm? Second question is regarding Sunday worshippers. I try to go to the temple as much as possible sometimes 2-3 times week. I feel that people are only using Sundays as the day to remember Sikhi and God. And the rest of the week they are too busy? I admit i was like that, but eventually realized that Sikhi is a way of life and I try to live it 24/7. I was just wondering what you think about Sunday worshippers? Thanks for taking the time

There is absolutely nothing wrong with going to the Gurdwara and kirtan which inspires and uplifts you. Go and enjoy yourself. Be inspired and out of your enthusiasm, others will be inspired to come as well. As far as the others who only come for Sunday...It is not our job to judge other's devotion and spiritual participation. All you can do is watch over your own. Out of your sincere devotion and love for the Guru, be an authentic example. You will inspire and uplift others. Don't judge. That only dims your own light and turns off others. BE THE LIGHT, and attract others to their inner light. Guru will guide you. GTKK
