Sat Siri Akaal.

I am not sure what you mean by SWEAR. If you mean people who use 'swear words' when they are upset, for example, Siri Guru doesn't really address this directly. However, it is not graceful for ANYONE to use harsh or extremely impolite words as part of their language. Our language is a reflection of our thoughts. If we follow the Guru's instruction, our minds become pure and our language will reflect that. When we don't, then our language reflects the garbage that collects in our minds.

If you mean by 'swear' the concept of slander, of gossiping or talking about another person and how bad/unkind/impolite/stupid or whatever he/she is, then Guru has plenty to say. Siri Guru tells us that when we slander and curse others, we bring their karma upon ourselves. You can find more on this topic by searching this Forum using keyword "slander". This is true of slander, whether or not what one is saying about another is actually true. If you cannot see God in all, you cannot see God at all.

If by 'swear' you mean people who 'swear' as in PROMISE to do something, but then do not, then those people have let themselves and others down. As Sikhs we are taught to give and keep our word, this is part of the excellence of Khalsa. So we make ourselves and other Sikhs look bad when we let others down, and we reap the karma of this because we lose the trust of others.

Guru ang sang,
-DKK
