This is more of a comment than a question. I watched some bollywood movies recently and was appalled by the way they depicted Sikhs. Sikhs are shown as the dumbest people on the planet, lacking any sense, whatsoever. On top of that, they are degraded continuously. They are mostly shown as clean-shaven people who have no sense of their religion!! They are made fun of, ridiculed in any way possible, and so on. How are we supposed to educate people of different countries about the true meaning of a Sikh when Indians themselves lack any sense of brotherhood? I am past the point of tolerance for this ridicule of Sikhs because I am a proud Sikh and refuse to sit and watch "our own people" make fun of us!! I would like to suggest that something be done of this. I remember that the Sikh community protested with great enthusiasm when the game Hitman 2: Silent Assassin showed Sikhs as terrorists (I don't entirely remember the issue). I have been living in Canada for a year and a half now and have noticed that people here show more respect for the Sikhs than those who SHOULD (the Indians, that is)! The increase in number of Sikhs that are cutting their hair and shaving off their beards might be a cause of the depiction of Sikhs in bollywood movies. When their own countrymen do not show any respect for them, maybe it affects their self-respect. I hope we teach the bollywood movie-makers a lesson.

I would really appreciate if you could give your comments on this, 'cause I might be just exaggerating the issue. It's just that I've observed it in many Bollywood movies.
