Hi,

I need some advice on how to feel better about myself and my life!
My problem is to do with a guy- it may seem very trivial and I feel silly for writing in but really need some guidance!

I had been with this guy whom I sincerely love for what would be nearly 4 years, but have been having problems as you do now and again. A so called friend of mine at the time advised I go to see a tarot reader- but have always been against the idea, me being influenced by this person went to see one and i was told many things - hes my soul mate etc... but there is someone who is trying to split us up by means that are not good- thing is i dont like to believe in such things !

Now this is hard to believe, but within a month or so this actually happpened- he literally changed over night and said he no longer loves me - this really hurt my feelings and am suffering but am confused as what to do as we have talked about marriage for a fair while and he has always said he loves me and we are the same caste etc... this tarot reader told me to do certain things but i dont feel comfortable 'doing' such things so i never did them! but now it seems as though someone really is splitting us up and its worked! I have always been very sceptical about these things that go on and still am!

I genuinely feel in my heart we are meant to be together, but I have heard from someone that he is seeing someone now, but it seems so out of character for him ! As everyone says we are meant for each other too! We have said to each other from day one that we would 'wait' for one another if u know what I mean and I really dont want to be with anyone else!

I was wondering if there is any thing i can do spiritually to perhaps prevent this person from doing this or counterract it or maybe even a special prayer I can recite to help me get over this situation/protect him even as I am taking it out on those around me and am becoming somewhat overcome by the whole thing!

Since this has happened I have turned to God even more so as I believe he can help me, I am not totally religious but am very spiritual and do believe in Sikhi! I find as I am getting older I need more guidance from God and am keen to learn more and more about our religion. Please help !

Love and Peace to all

P.S I really like this website - I have learned so much from it and find it invaluable in my life now! keep up the good work !
forgive me if this sounds very trivial but to me its very real and distressing!

(REPLY) Of course your situation seems real and distressing to you, because you're "in" it. You're living in your emotions, and yet your soul is telling you that you need to turn your attention to your spiritual self. These relationships/boyfriend/girfriend things frequently end in betrayal and heartache. If he hasn't married you long before this, well, what were you two waiting for? He obviously didn't want to make a lifelong commitment, and I'm sorry to tell you, that men are fickle. Do you know what that means? It means they can change their affections from one woman to another. It doesn't bother them. Anyway, you're asking what you can do? Well, for one thing: forget about the Tarot cards. If you want the highest guidance, it has to come from within YOU. And the way to tune into that is to start by reading your Banis every day - religiously. Can you read in Gurumukhi? If not, go on the SikhNet website and at least start by reading Japji Sahib aloud in English translation (by Guruka Singh Khalsa)every morning. Guru Nanak explained the meaning of life, and the soul's journey, and you will start to get a perspective on your situation. Right now you're so much in the middle of it, that you can't see the forest for the trees. You need to get into your higher consciousness, and the Guru's bani will take you there. If you can read in an Akandh Path, or do a Sahej Path, you will find that your life will change-- for the better. don't let any person make you feel bad! Remember that God lives and breathes in you, and try to act and speak remembering that fact. People come and go, but God is always with us. If you want to make your boyfriend a "saint" - then recite the "SoPurkh" section of Rehiras 11 times a day and pray for him. I wish you well. God and Guru bless you.
