Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa

Waheguru Ji Ki Fathe!!!

I am a married non amritdhari sikh and really want to follow the path of our Guru and become an amritdhari sikh. Only one thing is that alcohol is become part of socialising in India. Being a businessman I have to bear people drinking and smoking around me all the time. In parties/get togethers people offer wine/beer and its rude to say no. I can say no but what about business ? Please help!!

Yours Brotherly,
Dilkhush

Greetings and blessings to you,
Very good question.
However, you must notice, that people who choose not to drink are
respected for their lifestyle. Confidently requesting bubbly water w/ lemon
or virgin pina colada is not unusual. Once you establish your values with confidence you can determine if you the right line of work and possibly find co-workers with more similar values to yours.
(Fortunately in the USA smoking is NOT permitted inside restaurants etc.)

Blessings to you with actializing your goal.
