I remember a moderator at Sikhnet saying that Rock music appeals to our sexual appetite and lower Chakra of Kundalini. Then is it wrong to enjoy jazz, soul, latin, orchestral music etc. while practising the life of a true Sikh?

---

No, it is all about awareness and consciousness. Tune into yourself when you are listening to these kinds of music and honestly evaluate your energy and which chakra is being stimulated. Use yourself as a labratory. How do you feel? Then you decide what you want your energy and consciousness to be. A good Sikh is not someone who just "obeys" because someone else tells them that a certain music is right or wrong. You have to have an experience for yourself and develop your own values from within. I am not implying here that it is OK to go out and do anything (drugs, alcohol, smoking, sex) to get the experience. I'm just saying that you must decide. Perhaps your experience comes from learning from other's mistakes...perhaps your experience comes from meditating and feeling the experience of oneness from within. Blessings. gtkk
