i have a few problems whilst meditation
firstly i prefer to sit crossed legged not leaning my back on anything as in this position i enjoy the experience more. however i have a few problems...
1) i get pins and needles in my legs (kind of like numbness) just about 15 mins into it
2)and at the same time i feel pain in my lower back (right side)
3) i have tried keeping my spine straight but this also results in pain and cramps.
By the way - i perfrom my meditation on my bed (matress)
please advise as i would prefer to sit on the same position for a few hours

It is preferrable to do some yoga and stretching before you meditate, which will prepare your body to sit. Also, don't sit on your mattress. Put a sheep skin or some other soft surface on the floor. Try putting a firm pillow under the edge of your buttocks, allowing your spine to straighten naturally and your knees to go down to the floor. Try these things and let me know how it goes. GTKK
