Dear Khalsa ji,

I am an Amritdhari sikh of 15 years. I go to a catholic girls school in London. In my school there are many other sikh girls, but none of them are amritdharis.
One of my friends at school is a Sikh but she isn't a strong sikh. She hardly ever goes to the gudwara, and she doesn't know much about our wonderful religion. She wants to convert to Islam. SHE FEELS THAT God IS PULLING HER TOWARDS ISLAM AND SHE LOVES TALKING ABOUT IT AND SHE EVEN SPEAKS Urdu. I told her that Sikhs would't mind because she's still worshipping God but just in a different way.
She is feeling a bit lost on what to do, What advice do you have for her please.
Love from
GKB

You are correct to be concerned.
Guru Nanak and all the Sikh Guru's brought us the gift of a larger and more enlightened path of consciousness. They responded to the corruption of Islam and Hinduism and the other religions of the time. Why should anyone blessed with the path of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib want to move backwards into a more confining place and judgemental place.... a place where women have no respect or value.

Worshipping God is not what it is all about anymore. Finding the power and strength and love and faculty of God within you and sharing that experiance with others is what our way of life is about. What kind of example can you be to your friend? You should be inspiring her to experience the empowerment of our Rehit Maryada and the love of our Siri Guru Granth Sahib.

The Guru's did not travel far and wide teaching people to be Muslims and Hindus. Why are you??????????????????????
