Hi, im a sikh sardar (17) & i have a question to ask for that has been on my mind for a long time. You see, i like this girl who is also sikh but the thing is that im afraid of wat would happen if i go out with her. This is becase my parents are strict as anything & i think hers are also. She knows that i like her but the thing is i dont want her to get in troble with her parents. I see her & her parents at the gurdwara & i say sat sri akal to them but the thing is that i just dont know wat to do. im so confused. When ever i talk to her or see her, she makes me feel better about myself. i mean we got so much in common, but the thing is i just dont know wat to do. If possible, can u help? thanks

Forget about dating. That would be a betrayal to you and to her.

Invite the family over for tea.
Go visit her at her home.
Go to the museum with the permission of your families and have your sister or her brother along on the outing.
It is traditional in our Sikh way of life for youth to be accompanied by family members while socialing, going to movies, cooking food for each other's families.....serve in the Gurwara together, teach the children.

Be creative. Think about what you would like to accomplish in your association with this young lady that would honor and bless both of you.
