WAHEGURU JI KI KHALSA

WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

After doing tons of research, looking through Guru Granth Sahib, talking to granthis, educated baptized Sikhs, looking at rehat maryadas, not ONCE have I have found that eating meat is not allowed. Infact in the Guru Granths Sahib, Guru ji says that we are from meat, people have been eating meat since the begining. GURU JI DOES NOT ANYWHERE SAY WE SHOULD NOT EAT MEAT. In fact it says that pandits who close their noses at they are near meat, devour men at night. Not eating meat comes from the hindu influnece on Sikhism. The word used by Bhagat Kabir "masli" does not mean fish, as i have wrote once before, it was a drug during that time. Extensive, clear, and un-biased research, which I have done, will give everyone the same conclusion: WE CAN EAT MEAT!

Sat Nam. I don't think you are asking a question, you are providing your rationale for eating meat. If that satisfies you, then fine. Another viewpoint is that to live as Khalsa means to avoid eating or drinking any substance that pollutes the body -- (and from a health standpoint meat is being more recognized for one thing as a cause of heart disease, and leaves a cancer producing residue in the body -- it's called uric acid). There are many arguments from a humanitarian point of view also, that would prevent me from eating an animal. Some species, like lions and tigers, were intended to be carnivorous, they have fangs and claws -- and short intestinal tracts - so they can digest more easily. We humans, however, were not intended to devour other creatures. you will of course disagree with this, but since you posted your opinion, I thought I'd express mine! By the way, are we "pandits"? I don't think so. It is my humble understanding that all the Gurus taught us to live a way of life that is pure, does not unnecessarily harm others, and is intended to make us, as Sikhs, healthy, and happy and able to remember God with every breath. When I took Amrit there were things noted that Khalsa is supposed to avoid. Meat is one of them. Blessings, SP
