Summary of Question:Shd We Celebrate Hindu Festivals?

we all know tht most of the sikhs had hindu ancestors.i wanted to know tht is it right for sikhs to celebrate festivals like deewali,dusshera,holi,bhai duj and rakhi?

if we can then whd shd we do to celebrate it in a manner different to hindus?i had read somewhere that our gurus had sanctioned us to celebrate deeewali as it's celebrating the victory of truth against the evil.kindly clarify?thnx

The hindu festivals are not Sikh holidays. While culturally it may be very hard for Sikhs to avoid celebrating them, they are NOT part of the Sikh religious holiday /festival calendar. If you search "Diwali" on the youth forum search bar you will see other comments on this specific festival. Thank you.
