My name is arun and i am 20 years old. My family in India is very religious but here in england everyone has cut hair. for about five years i have wanted to grow my hair. recently i get upset when i look at myself. i wish i had long hair and was a sardar, but i am scared. i know this may sound bad but i like the attention i get, when people say that i am smart and good looking. I am scared, will people still like me, what if i can't get married? I know i should have faith in waheguru, he always helps me but i still have doubts about my hair.What do i do?n how do i know when i am ready?

You will never know until you do it. You will never be ready until you just do it. Believe in the Guru and just do it. The Guru will carry you. What kind of a young woman do you want to attract to you? If you have short hair, you will attract someone to you that wants that. If you want a women who wants a Sadar than you'd better have your hair and a turbin. How will she recognize you to be a Sadar? Have the courage to be who you are. It's not in our Sikh tradition to be weak and fearful. Draw upon the courage of Guru Gobind Singh. Aren't you his son? Then...ACT LIKE IT.

Personally, I find a Sikh man with a neat turbin and long flowing (unrolled or tied-up beard)to be very attractive and yes, even sexy. Be who you are. If when you look in the mirror you don't recognize the image as you, then you'd better change the image you see in that mirror to be you. When you are on your death bed, are you going to say, "Wow, I blew it, because I didn't have the courage to live my Truth."...or are you going to say, "Thank God I listened to my inner Truth and became myself." You choose. Who do you want to be? I'm praying for you to become yourself. GTKK
