Mt friends all want me to go to Junior Prom, because it is the second biggest dance in high school, and because I have never been to a dance before. I was even suprised that my mom asked me if I wanted to go, because I thought see would be against it. But if I go to the dance, I have to ask a girl out before, and I'm not sure thats the right thing to do. I'm not even sure what I'm going to do when Senior Prom comes because almost everyone goes to that dance, and I don't know if it is right to ask a girl out and dance with her, especially if she isn't Sikh and I probably won't have a long-term relationship with her. How should I solve this dilema?

Dear one,

You are in duality and unclear because you are following others and not your own inner voice. Whether ot not you go or do not go, come to clarity within your own mind about this. Prom and dances and dating may not be your interest and this is fine. If you are happy with your identity and your life then be happy and do not let the pressure of others infect you with doubt. When you are focused in your life in your Sikhee and in your graceful devotion this is enough for any son of Guru. You are very young and life is full of relationships. Follow your interests and hobbies and live your life with understanding and acceptance and happiness. Perhaps your mother does not know all the things that go along with proms and dances.

Blessings to you,

SK
