Waheguru ji sat sangat!

this is a quick reply to the reply that without amrit and living in a Sikh life style you shall meet God. As A SIkh you shall never obtain naam without AMRIT! SO NO! Amrit is the minimum step in giving you head to the Guru, its the least you can do in your journey to Waheguru as a Sikh. How can you live as a Sikh when you cant even follow Guru Gobind and still have doubt in your mind. DKK that advise wasnt good and we should all know better! Guru Gobind Singh ji said as long as my Sikhs reamin Sikh shall i bestow my powers upon them, without following all the teaching you shall neevr ontain naam through this path. This path requires ultimate surrender of the soul, ego must go and doubt and pure faith in you Guru. Amrit dosnt not take you to sach kand, in fact its shows commitment. AMRIT IS VITAL FOR A SIKH, panj piyareh gave their head for such a blessing to become a Sikh!

Sat Sri Akal,

To be a true Gursikh, all Sikhs should aspire to follow Sri Guru Gobind Singh's advice and take Amrit. Similarly, to be a true Sikh one needs to keep his or her hair. However, the biggest amrit that we should take in our life is the amrit of naam. Sikhism was founded on essentially three principles: kirt karni, naam japna and vand chakna. Remember, truth is the highest, but truthful living is the highest.

What all this means is that amrit is not essential to merge with Waheguru. Technically, the first nine Gurus did not take Amrit, does that mean that they did not meet God? Becoming an Amritdhari is a personal choice and shows the level of commitment you have towards your Guru. The more commitment you have, the easier it is to meet Waheguru. So like I said, to be a True Gursikh, you need to have taking Amrit as one of your life goals. However, that is NOT a prerequisite for merging with Waheguru (meeting with God). Saying something like this means that only Gursikhs can meet God, no one else (christians, muslims, hindus).

I hope this helps.

Gur Fateh,
HSD
