Sat Sri Akal,

I am confused on why Guru Ram Dass is referred as the "Lord of Miracles", and on why we should pray to him for a miracle. Is Guru Ram Dass a god? I thought he was one of the messengers of god, and that the only being we should pray to is the one almighty god? Isn't this what the Guru's taught? I have asked this question before, but never recieved a reply. I hope I didn't cause any offense to your beliefs?

(REPLY) Sat Nam. I appreciate your question, and I understand why it may seem conflicting with what is, of course, true, that Guru Ram Das, like Guru Nanak, was - and still is ! God's messenger. There is a statement in Siri Guru Granth Sahib that says that there is no difference between God and Guru (sorry I can't tell you the exact page, but I've see it!) I personally feel the connection to God most strongly through Guru Ram Das. My experiences through the years have proved to me the power and grace of Guru Ram Das' blessings in my life when I call upon him. As you know, DHAN DHAN RAM DAS GUR shabd is contained in Siri Guru Granth Sahib. Our Shabd Guru is 1430 pages of Truth as revealed and spoken by its enlightened sources. I hope that answers your question. May God and Guru bless you always, SP
