Sat Sri Akaal

I need your help, my brother is going through a bit of a rough patch at the moment, he is in the process of living his youth doing things he shouldnt be i.e smoking etc........there are other factors also and it seems he is having a lot of bad luck or seems to be attracting a lot of bad luck.....he feels that someone has given him bad "nazar"........I was wondering whether there is anything prayer I can do to help him over come this..........

Thank You

(REPLY) Sat Nam. It is very kind that you want to help your brother, but he has to help himself! Bad luck is usually the result of some past actions, remember the law of karma! So if he wants his life to improve, he needs to change his own attitude and actions. You can pray for him, and I'm sure you do already. He should take responsibility for his own situation, and not blame anyone else for giving him bad "nazar" (whatever that is?) I always turn to Guru Ram Das, the Lord of Miracles, when I want to pray for someone who needs a miracle. So you might want to chant DHAN DHAN RAM DAS GUR shabd every day, at least 11 times, or for a half hour. Another thing that can often help is to recite the "SO Purkh" section of Rehiras Sahib and pray for your brother. Prayer is powerful, and your prayers will become more and more effective the more you yourself tune into the Guru, by reciting your banis every day, and chanting God's name before sunrise. Blessings, SP
