hi.

im confused. i dnt know y but im thinkn oddly dese days. like da thing dats on my mind is meditation, and that we r gona die one day, and that day is reachin soon, very soon. im feelin really awkward abt life, and marriage and things like that. all i want to do is meditate, meditate and meditate. its like pressure on my mind, jst like wen somone has a 70% assignment due the next day and dey havent done it, its that kind of pressure that my mind is feelin abt God and meditation. i feel like im wastin my life. oh yeh, im amritshak and all dat. but wat can i do abt this pressure, is it bad or good?

(REPLY) Sat Nam. The way to relieve pressure to meditate is simply to meditate! BUT NOT ALL THE TIME. Do your meditation early in the morning, in the ambrosial hours, and pray for guidance in your life. We are not ascetics, and we don't run away from the world and sit in a cave. We need to live as saint/warriors, i.e. to practice kindness and compassion, service and humility, and yet have the courage to defend those who cannot defend themselves. So, you need to balance your time and energy. Start your daily meditation by reciting Japji Sahib, and then recite the other banis at the apppropriate times. I think you'll find Jaap Sahib particularly effective in balancing your feelings. bLESSINGS, SP
