Hi,

I read a post my a moderator who said its sometimes hard to eat out because you can't find good vegetarian food. I know exactly what he/she meant. But in previous years I have discovered if you write a letter to the restaurant chain or the manager they will respond to your request and disclose which foods are available according to our diet preference. Most restaurant chains do provide a vegetarian menu, if you let your server know you like the cook and them to use clean utensils to serve your food. Most of the times they comply really well, and due to their curiosity you can end up teaching them a thing or two about sikhism. Also, if you live in a metropolitan area, most cities or downtowns have budhist restaurants, they serve ALL veg. Can you imagine going to a restaurant and being able to order ANYTHING! even dessert! Thats really a treat. VEGAN places are becoming a common trend too.I usually eat out once a week. So cooking at home is the best option, best if you like going out, with a little effort you can expand your options. Restaurant chains with minimum veg. menu (in US) Ruby Tuesdays, Outback steakhouse, Applebees, Chili's. Ofcourse everyone has salads, sometimes you want more then just a salad for dinner/lunch. In summers, due a veg. barbecue...its fun! If anyone knows anything else, if its alright with the moderators, we can use this channel to communicate our vegetarian options.
Thanks!

Thank you for your ideas. GTKK
