Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh,

I believe it was on the website that I had seen individuals calling themselves gurus by putting the word Guru in from of their names. There was woman who called her self "Guru Kirn Kaur Khalsa" I found this very sinful...I did email this site and got a response back from someon but not her. I just want to know why do so called Sikhs do this to themselves and our relgion. Am I the only who finds this offensive?

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

Dear One:
Guru Kirn Kaur Khalsa is the woman's name in its entirety. The 'Guru' is not a title meant to put her on pedastal as Guru, nor does she for a moment consider herself to be the Guru (I know her). There are many Sikhs in the West with "Guru" as part of their NAME. When we say Guru Nanak, we speak of Nanak the Guru. When we say "Guru Kirn" we speak of someone whose name is Guru Kirn.
I can assure you NO disrespect to Siri Guru or 10 Sikh Gurus is meant by people whose names include "Guru_________."

Guru rakha,
-DKK
