sat sri akal..

I'm very confused about the use of 5K's in today's perspective.well i understand that GURU ji gave the 5K's to us because we needed them in older times.

-What is the need of KIRPAN now, when we have guns to defend ourselves???..

-Why a khalsa have to wear KACHERA..why cant he wears a simple underwear( both serves the same purpose)??

I also have one more Q'n

-Why we have to wear 5ks to reach god ,even when god is said to be find by the spirtual beliefs not by outer materialistic things.

I'm not questioning the authority of guru ji...m just a confused sikh.do reply......

Dear one,
Why are you so lazy that you cannot do the research to find the answers to the exact questions you have just asked?

First of all, 1699 was in this age, the Kal Yug. It is not olden times. The principles that were given those short 300 plus years ago were expressly for these current "times" and milleniums to come.

Do you carry a gun to defend yourself? Probably not. Is there a need to carry a gun? Hypothetically not. Carrying a kirpan is a statement of acceptance of your martial duty to: respect and protect life and the respect God's power of Generating, organizing and destroying capacity. If you can accept this Divine capacity within you, then you have an appropriate understanding of wearing a kirpan.

The Kachera contain your calcium balance in your long bone of the thigh. They also help contain your sexual energy and remind you that you are dressing for your spirit and inspiration rather than for sexuality and expending your juices.

Guru Gobind Singh does not recognize you except by your wearing of the 5 k's.
When you wear them you have his support and love.

Other wise, the "modern" society today will only give you opportunities to spend excessively your material and sexual resources. These resources all run out. Our spiritual resources are unlimited. God's store house knows no end. Read from the SGGS every day and find out what the Guru says. Best investment is to use and share your spirituality and realize the gifts of why you have been granted this human life.
