Sat Sri Akal

I have searched through existing questions, and found many about life after death. In a reply to one of them it said that our family does not go with us when we die, but if a family memeber has died, and is therefore now one with god, when we die, and we become one with god, in a way we will meet again, because we are both one with god. Does this make sense? Do you think that is valid, that when we die we actually become one with all those who died before us?
Secondly, Is the whole point of living to get close to god, so we break the cycle of reincarnation? If so, then it makes no difference, as we never remember anything from our previous lives anyway, so why not live how we want now, because after we die we wont remember anything anyway. Please let me know your thoughts about this.
Thank you.

Sat Sri Akal,

Just because someone dies does not mean that she or he becomes one with god/Waheguru. Becoming one with Waheguru depends on the person's karma. There is no individual when someone becomes one with Waheguru. The state of existence is entirely different and can not be described except by those who have attained that level of spirituality.

Secondly, "we" may not remember anything from our past lives, but our soul has a record of EVERYTHING. Each soul has karma, and that karma sticks with the soul. So while we as humans may not know our karma, it is there with us always, which is why we NEED to make sure we live our lives as a GOOD SIKH because it DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Gur Fateh,
HSD
