HI....

Just want to ask if i dont know how to read punjabi and do parth, can io just lisent to Jap Ji Sahib in the morning while driveng to work with my shose off.
Another thing is if i want to ask something from god, is it ok if just do
mool-mantar.... will that do bcos i cannot read punjabi can only speak.

(REPLY) Sat Nam. You are cheating yourself out of the greatest wisdom of all time, that is revealed in the sacred Japji Sahib! Best if you "listen" while sitting quietly in one place, reverently trying to repeat the words as you hear them, and then read a translation so that you start to understand the meaning of the words that Guru Nanak spoke. REciting Paath is not something to be done by rote, but with reverence and attention if you want to benefit from it. Mool Mantra is very powerful, prayer to be successful needs to come from a place of sincere humility, reverence and devotion, not some automatic mouthing of syllables to get what you want! You're missing the boat if you don't spend some quality time with God and Guru every day!
