Thanks for your responce to my question. You made some very important points that I had not considered before and when and if I do consider adoption seriously, I'll make sure to come back and check the response again to make sure I can answer those questions.

Secondly, as for the organ donation, I think I understand what you are saying but I am not sure what AKAL means. Is it just doing Paath or a specific one you are recommending.
I guess I just have some work to do before I can decide for myself but thanks again for your enlightening perspective.

Sat Siri Akaal. "AKAL" means undying. Chanting Akaal for one who has died is a teaching given by Yogi Bhajan. He recommends chanting it 3 times (as a chant it's "Ah-kaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal") as a prayer for the deceased one that s/he may cross over fully into Guru's arms. Guru ang sang,
