Waheguruji Ka Khalsa, Waheguruji Ki Fateh.

I really don't know how to start actually, but just recently i had a dream and within that dream i passed away. Before i passed away my eyes were caught on a picture of Guru Nanak Dev Ji floating on water and the picture slowly disappeared. Everything went dark and it seemed like i was floating through a tunnel near a light. I really got scared and started chanting waheguru on the way. As i approached the light, everything was soo bright for a few a seconds and i couldn't see anything but then later all aroudn me i started seeing colourful patterns of different shape and sizes. I started asking myself where i was and where everyone was and i felt very scared and started chanting waheguru's name even more, later i found my self awake looking up at the ceiling in my room.

I'm never been scared of death, as i belived everyone has to go one day. At that moment after the tunnel all worldly problems became very minute and the fact that i was alone got me very scared. I am now afraid, and i'm starting to think that life after death the soul is alone, for how long i don't know. And being alone scares me. Can you tell me how one can prepare themselves for this lonely period after death. What does sikhi say about life after death, is it a lonely period?

Waheguruji Ka Khalsa, Waheguruji Ki Fateh.

Waheguruji Ka Khalsa, Waheguruji Ki Fateh. What you have described is very much like the accounts of those who nearly die and then live to tell about it: it is what happens when one dies. Yes, there is a 'tunnel' type of thing, with light at the end. One goes to the light.
Look there is nothing to fear concerning death. It is a TRANSITION to another plane of existence. Our physical body here falls away so to speak, but our being/Soul moves on. The more one meditates and builds one spiritual psyche and connection to Soul, the easier transition is. I have helped a number of people in their death process and those who were faithful and had practiced prayer, worship and/or meditation crossed much more easily than those who did not have that energy built up.

Siri Guru Granth Sahib is nothing but a treatise on preparation for the next phase. Meditation on the naam builds inner peace ("sukh sehej") and clears the subconscious of the fears that hold us here and make us afraid to die. So prepare for death by meditation, daily, on the naam. Make Waheguru so much a part of your consciousness that when your time comes, Waheguru is on your lips and your transition will be easy.

Guru ang sang,
