I know EXACTLY how you feel, although my circumstances may have been somewhat different, I still understand what you're going through. I have, due mainly to pressures similar to the ones that you describe, been going through depression on and off for the past 5 years. When I started believing in God again my depression abated somewhat, but I still had pretty bad episodes. Now, I believe that the depression is finally over, although I still have some residual effects from it such as fatigue etc. but this too should go away in time. There is hope for everyone!!! Please don't give up hope on yourself! It sounds like you could really benefit from seeing a professional psychologist or psychiatrist, you should. Also, I would recommend reading 'Shamballa: the Sacred Path of the Warrior" by Chogyam Trungpa. It seems to describe the heart of an ideal Saint-Soldier and was and is a big help for me.
I hope that this post will give you some hope and encouragement to lift yourself up. When I read your post it struck an instant chord with me. God bless you!

Sat Siri AKaal.
Thank you.
I would add that LONG-term depression could well have a chemical/hormone/brain component, and that one should seek medical advice on this as well.--Especially if sincere efforts to ease depression (such as those you describe) do not help.
