Summary of Question:Stereotyping People
Category:Other
Date Posted:Wednesday, 11/21/2001 11:07 PM MST

people who judge a whole group by what someone did are ignorant. i read that question about jatt and tharkan story and someone who wrote about it saying that jatts are narrowminded and need to go to school and learn. when you say 'all' you are judging an entire group of people. and since i been reading these questions i have seen how horrible indian people treat each other. i am very upset. i never knew this existed i mean i knew it happened with blacks and whites but never thought it happens in sikhi. WHY HAVEN'T WE LEARNED ANYTHING FROM THE PAST? so please stop stereotyping your own people you will only be called a back stabber and ignorant.

Sat siri akaal. It is not just about what people call other people. It is not at all part of Sikh teachings to stereotype and categorize people according to some false, worldly delineation of caste or class or education level. 7th Guru Har Rai created a teaching center (taksaal) named after and run by an illiterate devotee called Sudrash. Kabeer tells us when we criticize another we criticize the Creator who created us all. So, it's not just learning from our past, it is learning from the Guru directly. Guru ang sang,
