hi

I red the thread about the girl from Punjab wanting to find a good husband, and the reply was to read 'So Purakh'. Does it matter if it is read in english rather than Punjabi so then I will understand it better? Or does it have to be in punjabi? Also, how do I read it? Can I recite it from the computer or must I buy a copy of the Guru Granth Sahib?? Also, I understand there are two parts of the 'So Purakh' do both of these have to be read and repeated 11 times? What is the significance of the number 11?

By the way, this is a very good site. May I suggest that there should be the option to reply to an already existing question, because that would make the site easier to navigate through.

The questions do not stop there. Is there a process of purifying your soul so to speak, or is this taking Amrit and being initiated into Khalsa?

Thanks a lot.

11 times is the number that Yogi Bhajan gave for this practice. There are 11 gurus. Must be a connection. English, gurmukhi, computer, nitnaym. Whatever you have access to. Whatever you have ability to read. Of course, cover your head when you do this. There are 4 stanzas to so purakh. Read all 4.
