I have a serious problem: I am a 17 year old female who is approximately 35 pounds over the normal weight that I should be at this age. My problem is that I dont eat that much but I still am this weight. I do admit that I dont excercise...but the thing is that whenever I go back to india I lose weight very quickly and when I come back I gain it all back. I dont go over I am at a steady weight which is 35pounds over the normal. I have tried so many diets and over the past summer I excercised 3 times a week while watching wat I ate but still I didnt lose weight. I went down 1 size over the summer but I my weight stayed the same. But now since it is winter time I have gained back that 1 size that I dropped and I feel very depressed about my situation because u dont see many indian girls who are I should say "fat" and this problem is ruining my life...especially when I go out. I dont know wat to do. One of my friends suggested that I pray every morning and night and that wud help but I dont see how it will. I do not regularly pray...I know that is wrong and I should. Do you think it might help if I took amrit?? Please I am in desperate need of ur help if u can suggest anything to me. You guys do such a good job on this website!! Keep it up!!

For you information, many of the people who write on this forum are women, not just guys.

About your weight situation. Have you had your thyroid checked out. If your thyroid is functioning at a low level, that would make it very difficult to maintain a normal weight, no matter what you eat. I would also look at what you eat. Any cooked fats, procedded food, sweets, carbohydrates will all put on and keep weight. The best diet consists of a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, some grains, nuts, and seeds and yogurt. Drinking a lot of fresh water is very important to keep the body cleansed and the bowls moving properly. Do you drink caffeine? That will create an imbalance in your metabolism as well. The first thing I would do, though, is have my thyroid checked. Also, if you have candida, an overproduction of yeast in your body, that can cause overweight and bloating. A doctor can check that out for you as well. Exercise is very important, becase it will balance your metabolism, burn calories and keep your spirits up. If you feel good about yourself, the weight will drop easier. Also say positive affirmations to yourself...like, "I am beautiful, healthy and my perfect weight right now." Even if you don't believe it, the affirmation will change your subconscious and help to bring change in you. Good luck. GTKK
