Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fatheh.

I have a practice to go to our local Gurdwara Sahib daily, It is in a small city in USA and there is only one preatcher (Granthi Sahib) available. According to my believes and knowledge He is a servant of Guru and Gurdwara as he is being paid for these services. He is suppose to get up early in the morning and after having shower and getting ready, He must SERVE (Parkash) Guru early in the morning and read five Banis fully and slowly, similarly in the evening he is suppose to read Rehras Sahib and SERVE (Sukh Aasan) Guru Sahib and then read Kirtan Sohila and read Ardas two times while this whole course.

In this Gurdwara Sahib, Bhai ji starts his day at 8 or 8-30 in the morning and start service around 930 or 10 in the morning. So being little late He reads Banis so fast as He is being chased by somebody. The same effect goes in evening also like He starts serving sometimes 930 or 10 in the evening as well. Sometimes one Ragi Jatha is also available in the Gurdwara Sahib, but they also do not consider these things and merge themselves according to the practice already going on.

Can somebody answer me that if Guru Sahib is sitting in small cities Doesn't HE needs the same service as other cities? Doesn't HE needs the same respect here? The people who are their bosses so called PARDHANS and their committees are themselves not Sikhs sometimes and some of them are Sikhs, but they themselve have no fear of Guru Sahib. Do we expect any bright future for Sikhism after having these preatchers in the Gurdwara Sahib?

I welcome people, who can initiate some solid actions against these all things and about me I am always willing to learn being SIKH.

FATEH

Being a preacher or Granthi to some is just a "job". You can do better and I am sure you will. Keep up and start your own group of Sadh Sangat meetings.
