Please can you advise on which prayer to do to help my son to give up his alcohol? He is the eldest of my three sons and drinks constantly. He will not accept help from the doctors. He gets drunk and becomes voilent towards others. We feel very helpless when incidents of violence occur. I know that he has to admit he has a problem, but he doesn't care. We are willing to do anything to help him become a normal person. Please tell us that there is something positive somewhere. I know that God will help, but I need to know

how to ask Him.

Sat nam. At this point, the alcohol controls him and the pysche and body are completely addicted. Until in a sober moment he realizes what he's doing and CHOOSES to stop, there is little you can do but pray that he choose life.

Tough love is often an answer, but you have to be willing to let him go. Try not to further enable his addiction-- and endanger your family. Get rid of all alcohol in the house and insist while he's there he cannot drink. If he does anyway, boot him out, and call the police if he gets violent.
There are many alcohol recovery groups in North America. Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon (http://www.al-anon.alateen.org/) can give you further guidance on what you can do as family of an alcoholic. Guru ang sang,
