Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa

Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Khalsa Ji,

I used to go to the gurdwara very often on Sunday mornings but now I am very busy and cant seem to get a chance to go. I pray at home but it is not the same without actually being at the gurdwara. Does God look down on those who dont go even if they cant get a chance to????

Thankyou very much

GOD does NOT look down on any one. We, ourselves, have to be able to live with our own selves. Prayer is a means of thanking our Lord God for His many Bounties. We do not want to be 'akirtghanas' (ungrateful). There is no material thing that we can offer to God. The only thing we can do, to show our appreciation and Love for him, is through Prayer, living by his Word, and service of His people.

In Guru Granth Sahib, Prayer by one's own self, and Prayer in the company of Sadh Sangat, are both considered important. Sadh Sangat, by itself, does not have to be in a building called Gurdwara. It can be in your own home, with your family, friends, or anyone else. When one Prays in unison with others, the joy of prayer is different than when one prays alone. Both are joyful events. Both are important.

The other advantage of going to a Gurdwara, is for an opportunity to SERVE. It can also be done in another setting. The objective is surrender of oneself in HIS service.
